This architectural caprice that Gaud\u00ed built inspired by the medieval castle of Mart\u00edn I<\/strong>, on the outskirts of Barcelona. Returning to the Barcelona\u2019s city centre<\/strong> to end up in a corner as central as unknown (although less and less). It is the square of the Holy Martyrs Sant Just and Pastor<\/strong> located between the Plaza de San Jaime and the Via Laietana. Here stands a small Gothic fa\u00e7ade that holds, almost\"Sant\u00a0hidden, a basilica of Visigoth and Romanesque roots<\/strong>. From the top of its bell tower, which is accessed by a spiral staircase\u00a0of almost 200 steps, you can contemplate a 360 degree view of Barcelona<\/strong>. This is possible because, curiously, the centre of Barcelona is at a certain height compared to other contiguous streets. In 2015 excavations were carried out in this place that brought to light a crypt, several frescoes, stained-glass\u00a0windows and a sixth-century communal tomb.<\/p>\n

There are many mysterious stories of this temple, about Masonry and Templars. The truth is that, around it, it seems that time has stopped<\/strong>: small stairs, one of the oldest public fountains of the city built by a noble hunter knight, a quiet square in which crossing streets lead us to other treasures such as art galleries, wineries, cocktail shops or restaurants.<\/p>\n
