And here we have the second part of Joan Mir\u00f3\u2019s life. In our last post about him, he had finished his studies and found his first job. His intention was to work during the day and improve his technique in the afternoon, but there was an unexpected obstacle: his schedule. He had to work from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. With this timetable, what else can you do?<\/p>\n

He suffered from a nervous breakdown and typhoid fever. To help him recover, the doctor advised him to spend some time in the countryside. His parents had recently bought a country estate in Mont-roig del Camp<\/strong>, so he moved there for a while.<\/p>\n This would be the turning point of his new life. Once back in Barcelona, Mir\u00f3 announced to his parents that he was going to become a painter. And this time, his family finally supported him.<\/strong><\/p>\n The future artist began studying at Francesc d’Ass\u00eds Gal\u00ed’s art school. Mr. Gal\u00ed quickly noticed that Mir\u00f3 had some trouble painting reality and tried a unique teaching method: first, Mir\u00f3 had to stare at an object, then close his eyes and touch it. After seeing and feeling its form, Mir\u00f3 was finally able to draw it.
