After a busy day meeting with clients and exploring the many wonders Barcelona has to offer, the chances are that you want to regroup with your colleagues and grab a bite to eat.The good news? Barcelona is home to hundreds of award-winning restaurants, and many Michelin-starred ones to boot, but the hardest part is knowing where to make a reservation.

Though we’re yet to try every restaurant in our great city, we’ve spent time wining and dining clients at some of Barcelona’s most prestigious eateries. To give you a hand, we’ve picked some of the best restaurants for hosting corporate clients, whether you want to catch up over tapas or opt for a five-star experience to show your guests that you mean business…

1881 per SAGARDI

Overlooking the port of Barcelona, 1881 per SAGARDI is located at the History Museum of Catalonia, making it a great place for lunchtime meetings if you’re sightseeing with guests. Home to a contemporary cocktail bar and a menu dedicated to Mediterranean cuisine, 1881 is a treat, offering freshly prepared meats and seafood, freshly sourced from local markets.

From its hand-peeled “piquillo” peppers grilled over a wood fire to its lobster and mushroom rice, there’s something on the menu for everyone to enjoy, and its stunning outdoor terrace offering views of the city must be seen to be believed. There, you can sample a delicious cocktail or two (hey, if the company’s paying, why not!?) and reflect on a successful day…

Rilke

Rilke says its aim is to “amaze guests using simplicity and great flavour,” and boy does it deliver on that promise! Offering a seasonal menu that’s curated to represent Passeo de Gracia in Barcelona, this restaurant’s owners have lovingly built an establishment that not only delivers exceptional haute cuisine but an aesthetic charm that’s perfect for business.

Whether you’re in the mood for some Iberian cured ham, matured beef sirloin or roasted duck cannelloni, you’ll find something that tickles your fancy. And when you’re done, their mouth-watering cocktail menu is worth a try, too. Their creative cocktails are the mastermind of Juan Serrano, a renowned mixologist, with the fruity and exotic Festival a real favourite.

El Principal de l’Eixample

Situated inside of a stately townhouse, the elegant and sophisticated El Principal de l’Eixample is another restaurant to tick off your bucket list when visiting Barcelona on business. Not only does it offer dining rooms for private celebrations and functions, but there’s a courtyard, a garden, and even a library where guests can relax and catch up.

Located off the Paseo de Gracia, El Principal boasts large, spaced-out tables that create a great atmosphere – the ideal spot for professionals looking for a quiet place to eat. The chefs serve Catalan cuisine and their seasonal menu must be tried – from Rap a la romana, quatre salses (Floured monkfish breaded, four sauces) to Filet de vedella, patates al romaní i salsa bearnesa (Beef sirloin, rosemary potatoes and béarnaise sauce), it’s a classy affair, though if you’re in the mood for something lighter (and cheaper!), try their 25€ lunchtime set menu.

Nuria

Back in the 1940s, Nuria was famed for its sausages, ice cream and homemade pastries, but today the restaurant offers a little more in the way of sophistication. Celebrating more than 90 years on Rambla de Canaletes, Nuria offers a whole host of dishes for busy diners, including a tapas menu with sautéed shrimp, artichoke chips, and ham croquettes, through to a grilled meat platter, traditional seafood paella, burgers, pizza, pasta, and desserts.

Though certainly more relaxed than some of the other restaurants featured so far, Nuria is a firm favourite here at Barcelonina – you cannot go wrong with its hearty, traditional food. And if you’re planning on hosting a business meeting or presentation, ask about booking the venue for your event; prices are reasonable, and food and drinks are included in the service.

ORIO BCN Born

Another relaxed eatery to consider is ORIO, offering a large, open space in a perfect spot, opposite the Mercat de Santa Caterina, the oldest roofed market in Barcelona, and close to the Barcelona Cathedral.
Though available for total and partial exclusive use hire throughout the week, ORIO offers plenty of space for groups and professionals looking for somewhere to lunch, and its ‘Grandma’s Home Cooking’ menu is highly recommended. From clams in a green sauce to matured beef meatballs in a stew, our mouths are already beginning to water.

El Velódromo

After being closed for almost a decade, the iconic El Velódromo was restored by the Moritz brewery in 2009, and it holds onto its original art-déco interior.
Blending tradition with modern aesthetics and tastes, El Velódromo offers the finest-quality Catalan cuisine, including salmon with caramelised cabbage and veal meatballs with fresh tomato and mozzarella. It also boasts a private upstairs dining room – perfect for entertaining your corporate clients.

Fábrica Moritz

Fábrica Moritz is one of the largest microbreweries in Europe, offering guests a truly unique experience in the heart of Barcelona. As well as serving unpasteurised fresh beer that can be tried fresh from the tap and a makeshift gift shop where you can take home your favourite tipples, the brewery features an open kitchen serving delicious gourmet foods, such as sandwiches, mussels, fries, frankfurters, and pizzas.

Relaxed, quirky, and great for business!

Xiroi Ca La Nuri

Conveniently located on the Passeig Marítim de la Nova Icària, Xiroi proudly offers a relaxed gastronomy experience, combining creativity and entertainment. With great beach views, a friendly and relaxed waiting team and a daily specials menu where you get two courses, a coffee and a dessert for just 15€, it’s one of the most economical restaurants on our list.

We recommend sampling their Iberian ham to share, before moving onto their fried calamari Andalusian style, grilled cuttlefish with garlic and parsley, or seafood from Delta de l’Ebre.
