The Markets Tour – step by step
Thanks to this Barcelona Food Tour you will become an expert in Catalan food and have your taste buds dancing because we will stop for some tapas during this fascinating tour to the core (or the stomach) of the barcelonians. Be a part of the culture, atmosphere and history of Barcelona.
You will start this Barcelona Food Tour walking along the Barceloneta area to discover a hidden gem, its market. Its noisy atmosphere will help you to realise how dynamic the area is. This is where we will stop for the first discovery of the day: vermut? Local Beer? Pinchos? That would be up to you with your local guide’s help.
Afterwards, you will be amazed by the design of the Saint Catherine market. Located close to the trendy Ribera Area it has become one of the must see in the city. This is the area where you will taste some popular platillos (those are to share, like tapas but usually more sophisticated) in a picturesque Bodega.
We will end this wonderful Barcelona Food Tour visiting La Boqueria market, the biggest food market in the city and spite being the most popular, it still has some hidden gems to show. An old family run Charcuteria will be the last stop of this tour.

- A pincho or a snack with a drink, a vermouth with appetisers, two different wines paired with food. If you appetite is average, you won’t need lunch after the tour.

- A taxi from your hotel to the Barceloneta Area. The price depends on the location of your hotel, however, an average taxi ride is between 7 and 10€ (taxi for four people)
Is the food included in the price?
Yes. The prices change according to the number of people in your party. We prefer to include food this way you know the final price. However, drinks and food won’t be ordered beforehand. Once you arrive to each venue, the guide will give you the options you have to choose what fits better your taste. One advice: be adventurous! We’re sure you’ll make amazing discoveries.
How do you select the venues to stop?
Eating and drinking! We go there, we eat, we drink, and (very important) we pay. And if we love it, we take travellers like you. Besides, we do not take any commission to take you there.
Which is the best hour to have this Barcelona Markets Tour?
We would say this is a lunch tour. The itinerary has been designed to visit three markets which open in the morning. However, if we start very early, there wouldn’t be any vibrant atmosphere! This is the reason why we propose to start at 11 am to finish at 3 pm.
Are you on a cruise-ship?
In this case, the meeting point would be at the Pier. The guide will wait for you at the exit of the ship holding a sign with your name on it. In order to make the most of the tour, you will reach the starting point by taxi.
