Barcelona Foodie Tour and local winery

History, Food and Wine are three essential ingredients to understand the history of Barcelona and most important, to enjoy it!

In this tour you will:

  • Explore the Old City while learning its history
  • Discover some original Gourmet Shops
  • Enjoy a traditional tasting of local products
  • Visit a family run cava cellar

While you walk around the Old City with your local guide, you will learn all about the origins of the city and its golden age. This is the reason why the Cathedral, the King Square, the Old Jewish Quarter and Santa Maria del Pi are part of the itinerary.

The second main ingredient of his tour is food. While you enjoy the explanations of your local guide, some authentic, local run venues will help you to understand another main feature of our urban rituals: conversation around a good table filled with fantastic food.

After the lunch, a private vehicle with a professional driver will take you to a winery to enjoy the best cavas (champagne’s cousin) and wines in the Penedes region.

How does the Old Barcelona Foodie Tour & Winery work?

You’ll meet your local guide at your accommodation to head towards the Old City. Depending on this location you’ll take a taxi, the subway or you’ll just walk towards it. Once there, you’ll plunge in the history of this vibrant city learning all about the Cathedral, the King Square, the Old Jewish Area and Santa Maria del Pi. Along the stroll you’ll visit some gourmet shops which at least will surprise you.

If during the first part of the tour you’ve nourish your brain, now it’s time to feed the stomach. We’ll stop in an 88 years old Deli shop to taste the best products our gastronomy has to offer. The guide will help you to choose to make it a memorable lunch!

How does the visit to the winery work?

Yes, after the lunch, a car will be waiting to take you to a Cava cellar. This is a family run business and you’ll discover the history of the family and the method to elaborate this wine. In fact, is the same method followed in Champagne. In addition, you will enjoy three of their products in a commented tasting.

Is the food included in the price?

Yes. The prices change according to the number of people in your party. We prefer to include food this way you know the final price. However, drinks and food won’t be ordered beforehand. Once you arrive to each venue, the guide will give you the options you have to choose what fits better your taste. One advice: be adventurous! We’re sure you’ll make amazing discoveries.

Does the guide come with us to the winery?

Yes, of course. Your local private guide will be with you from the beginning to the end of this tour. The meeting point will be at your accommodation and the tour ends there as well. However, of you prefer to end in another place, just let us know.

Anna was great! She was informative without being boring, catered to our specific sight-seeing requests, and kept us fully enlightened and entertained. How this woman has so much knowledge, I don’t know! She literally had the answer to every single question we had. We stopped for a coffee mid-way as she could sense we were getting tired from walking and I enjoyed chatting to her socially. I 100% recommend her for anyone going to Barcelona!

Anne M.

We engaged Anna for a 3 days private tour in Barcelona. She is very dedicated and knowledgeable on every places of interest in Barcelona. When my child wasn’t feeling too well during the trip, she was flexible and accommodative to our last minute changes and requests. My family truly enjoyed our trip in Barcelona and had a wonderful time spent with Anna. If you are looking for customized private tour, Anna will be the best person to engage!!

Isabel N.

We concur with all the previous wonderful reviews of Anna and her team. We ended up having three tours with Anna and each one was different, informative and superb. If you would prefer to soak in the city and keep your nose out of the guide books and maps contact Barcelonina. Our trip to Spain had been derailed but once we contacted Jordi, everything started to improve. These folks have it together, make great suggestions on what to do and are patient with letting you make up your mind. Barcelona would not have been nearly as fascinating without them.
