We begin at Torre Bellesguard, a hidden gem standing on grounds steeped in 600 years of Catalan history. Here, away from the tourist masses, we explore how Gaudí blended Neo-Gothic tradition with his signature organic forms, inspired by the medieval castle that once stood on the site.
Following a comfortable taxi transfer, we arrive at the Sagrada Família. As professional guides, we grant you priority access through the exclusive reserved entrance, bypassing the general queues. Inside, you will witness the culmination of the techniques Gaudí pioneered at Bellesguard. From the “Dragon’s Roof” to the “Forest of Columns,” this curated journey reveals the deep connection between Gaudí’s early historical fascinations and the spiritual majesty of his final work.

How does this Gaudi tour work?
This tour is designed for the discerning traveler who seeks to understand the “why” behind the genius. Over four hours, we trace a chronological and spiritual line between two of Gaudí’s most significant creations.
The Legend of Bellesguard
Our journey starts at the foot of Collserola mountain at Torre Bellesguard. This site is unique; it is where Gaudí’s love for the natural world met his deep respect for Catalan history. Built on the ruins of the palace of the last King of the House of Barcelona, Bellesguard allowed Gaudí to play with straight lines and Gothic silhouettes, subtly infusing them with the organic textures of the surrounding landscape. We will explore the exterior’s mosaic details and climb to the famous roof—shaped like a dragon’s head—offering one of the most breathtaking, yet least-visited, views of the city.
A Seamless Transition
We leave the tranquility of the upper district via a private taxi, allowing for a focused discussion on how the structural innovations at Bellesguard—such as the use of local slate and the mastery of natural light—laid the groundwork for his later projects.
The Cathedral of Light
Arriving at the Sagrada Família, the contrast is striking. Using our professional guide credentials, we enter through the priority gate, saving you valuable time. Inside the Basilica, the Neo-Gothic influence seen at Bellesguard evolves into a revolutionary “living” architecture. We will spend our remaining time decoding the complex symbolism of the Nativity and Passion facades and wandering through the nave’s hyperbolic vaults. You will see how the small-scale experiments at Bellesguard blossomed into the arborescent columns that support the world’s most famous temple.
This is more than a tour; it is a masterclass in the evolution of an artist who turned stone into life.

No, you do not have to buy them. You will see that during the booking process the amount of the tickets is added to the final bill. In this way we can buy them in advance and avoid capacity problems. On the day of the visit, we will use the guides entrance. That means you will not need to queue.
What other Gaudi buildings can I visit?
In Catalonia there are about fourteen works by Gaudi, most of them in Barcelona. In addition to the Sagrada Familia, there is Casa Batlló and Casa Milà both located in Passeig de Gracia. Anyway, if you want to think outside the box, we strongly recommend visiting Torre Bellesguard, Palau Güell and Casa Vicens with a guide in Barcelona. If you want to enjoy the views of Barcelona, a visit to Park Güell is an excellent option.
The Historical Soul of Bellesguard: King Martin the Humane
To understand Torre Bellesguard, one must understand the ghost of the palace that stood there in 1409. Martin I of Aragon, known as “The Humane” (l’Humà) due to his love for the arts and letters, was the last monarch of the House of Barcelona.
His death without a legitimate heir marked the end of a glorious dynasty and changed the course of Catalan history forever.
Gaudí, a fervent patriot, didn’t just build a house here; he built a monument to a lost era. When you walk through the gardens, you are walking on the remains of the medieval walls where the King once sought the “Beautiful View” (Bell Esguard) to soothe his failing health.

Anna was great! She was informative without being boring, catered to our specific sight-seeing requests, and kept us fully enlightened and entertained. How this woman has so much knowledge, I don’t know! She literally had the answer to every single question we had. We stopped for a coffee mid-way as she could sense we were getting tired from walking and I enjoyed chatting to her socially. I 100% recommend her for anyone going to Barcelona!
We engaged Anna for a 3 days private tour in Barcelona. She is very dedicated and knowledgeable on every places of interest in Barcelona. When my child wasn’t feeling too well during the trip, she was flexible and accommodative to our last minute changes and requests. My family truly enjoyed our trip in Barcelona and had a wonderful time spent with Anna. If you are looking for customized private tour, Anna will be the best person to engage!!
We concur with all the previous wonderful reviews of Anna and her team. We ended up having three tours with Anna and each one was different, informative and superb. If you would prefer to soak in the city and keep your nose out of the guide books and maps contact Barcelonina. Our trip to Spain had been derailed but once we contacted Jordi, everything started to improve. These folks have it together, make great suggestions on what to do and are patient with letting you make up your mind. Barcelona would not have been nearly as fascinating without them.
