Do you know that there are current trends among instagramers that have already been Trending Topics in the 70s?

After this guided tour you’ll be answering YES to all the question thanks to the visit to the sharp-white MACBA.

The year 1929 was the year of the creation of MoMa, the second Universal Exhibition in Barcelona and the formation of the GATCPAC, so it is the ideal year to start a trip through this Short Century in the history of art.
Since October 2018, MACBA has proposed a chronological visit of its collection through perspectives, policies and themes that the center has developed since its creation. In addition, its connection with the city of Barcelona is shown at different times of the itinerary.

However, before visiting MACBA we will walk through the Raval District to discover the exciting history of this multicultural neighborhood and a vital part of Barcelona’s life. La Rambla, Boqueria Market, the old Hospital de la Santa Cruz and the courtyards of the CCCB are part of this route.

Why a guided tour around the Raval district?
☛First of all, its architecture is as interesting as that of the neighboring Gothic Quarter: the former medieval hospital became a library, the former Casa de la Caritat (charity house) today an exhibition center (CCCB) or the very modern MACBA by Richard Meier.

☛Second of all, its history: following its proximity to the Port, it was the old hot district of Barcelona. A transformation was started for the 1992 Games and today it is a very cultural and trendy neighborhood in Barcelona. The Boqueria market and the Botero Cat in Rambla del Raval are two icons of the area.

☛Finally, its location: the Raval starts at Catalunya Square then along the Ramblas facing the Gotico and ends at the seaside.

If you travel with kids
If you are traveling with kids, this tour is great for them, specially for teens. All the family will be carried away by the thrilling history of this trendy neighborhood as well as the artisans. Besides, all the explanations are done in a sparkling way, to avoid you to be bored.
Are you on a cruise-ship?
In this case, the meeting point would be at the Pier. The guide will wait for you at the exit of the ship holding a sign with your name on it. Once meeting the guide, you will take a taxi towards the Rambla, where your tour will start.

Anna was great! She was informative without being boring, catered to our specific sight-seeing requests, and kept us fully enlightened and entertained. How this woman has so much knowledge, I don’t know! She literally had the answer to every single question we had. We stopped for a coffee mid-way as she could sense we were getting tired from walking and I enjoyed chatting to her socially. I 100% recommend her for anyone going to Barcelona!

We engaged Anna for a 3 days private tour in Barcelona. She is very dedicated and knowledgeable on every places of interest in Barcelona. When my child wasn’t feeling too well during the trip, she was flexible and accommodative to our last minute changes and requests. My family truly enjoyed our trip in Barcelona and had a wonderful time spent with Anna. If you are looking for customized private tour, Anna will be the best person to engage!!

We concur with all the previous wonderful reviews of Anna and her team. We ended up having three tours with Anna and each one was different, informative and superb. If you would prefer to soak in the city and keep your nose out of the guide books and maps contact Barcelonina. Our trip to Spain had been derailed but once we contacted Jordi, everything started to improve. These folks have it together, make great suggestions on what to do and are patient with letting you make up your mind. Barcelona would not have been nearly as fascinating without them.
